I happened upon this great blog post by Lauren Conrad about How to be the Best Host to Your Houseguests right about the same time that my friend Fishy scheduled her visit to Wisco. Always wanting to make my guests feel right at home, I love a few good tips to help make their stay more enjoyable.
Aside from my parents, Fishy was my first official houseguest and the perfect excuse to get my main guest room in order. I did a deep clean, washed the sheets, covered the awful comforter with a duvet, added some cute pillows, hung some pictures, a cute lamp, and voila! The room was guest ready
Note the pleasant candle on the tall dresser, the bottles of water, and fresh towels. Since she was spending her birthday with me, I added a few extra surprises.
I also took LC’s advise and typed up a little “Welcome to the Cabin” information sheet, including wifi information, pet protocol, and where the wine was.
Of course I had to survey her response to my hospitality gestures for posterity. She thoroughly enjoyed all of the thoughtful touches throughout the room and felt very welcomed and comfortable. Her words, I swear!
What little tips and tricks do you use when receiving a houseguest?
