The Sisterhood of the World Bloggers Award

I was nominated by San for this award opportunity to participate and if you’ve been following me for any length of time you know that I am not only a participator but also a shameless follower.  Not only is this a great post for the collection, but also a great tool for learning more about people.  And I love knowing more about people.
Here are the rules for this award:
1. Provide a link and thank the blogger who nominated you for this award.
2. Answer the questions (s)he proposed.
3. Nominate other bloggers for the award.
4. Ask these bloggers 10 questions.
Here are San’s questions to me!
1.  What is your guilty pleasure?
Oh boy.  What a loaded question.  I actually have several guilty pleasures but my biggest one is probably reality tv.  I love watching people be people.  Sure it’s also entertaining, but it is interesting to me seeing how people just are.  I also utilize reality tv to desensitize myself to life outside of my own box.  This way I can avoid shock and awe in public.
2.  If I were to ask your family and friends, what would they say is one word that describes you?
I guess that would depend on the friend or family member!  Most people would say I’m sweet.  Other people would say I’m funny or smart or hard-working or creative.  If you asked me?  I would say complicated.
3.  What is one of your blogging pet peeves?
Finding quality content.  From myself.  I am often wishing I could write something totally inspired or hilarious or meaningful.  And I’m sure I have a few gems amongst the rubble, but I often feel that some of my blogging is just for the sake of blogging and not really packed with pizzaz.  I find myself wanting to be more than a half ass DIY Diva and Recipe Reviewer.
4.  When was a time in your life when you took a chance?
Great question!  I don’t really see myself as a risk taker or someone who really moves mountains, but the reality is that I have a habit of taking huge chances at life.  The most awesome part of that?  I have created a very rich life story filled with amazing experiences.  I took a chance moving to California 13 years ago to a place I had never been with no job, no place to live, and $2,000 in my pocket.  I took a chance quitting my life and moving to the mountain in 2011.  I took a chance two months ago and bought a house in Wisconsin.  I took a chance at being an entrepreneur a couple times in my life with many failures and some success.  I took a chance at forgiveness for someone who destroyed my heart.  I took a chance at self reflection and change to become a better person.  There are so many examples, large and small, of the chances I have taken and I don’t regret a single thing.  Even through the failures, I have achieve great success at living my life.  I am proud of what I have done and what I have accomplished and the person I have become.  My life is rich with people and memories that I get to cherish forever.  Not every chance was easy to take but I am grateful for the opportunity to try.  There are a few inspirational quotes I say to myself when faced with the opportunity for change.  Feel the fear and do it anyway and Better to regret something you did rather than something you didn’t.  I’m fortunate to have realized that in the end, the material items mean nothing.  Nothing at all.  As I lay on my death bed, I want to look back at my life and know that I have really lived.
5.  What is one activity you like to do for self-care?
I love pampering myself.  Because of my little business, I have an overwhelming amount of really great products to use at my leisure.  There is nothing like giving myself a head to toe spa session to make me feel like a million bucks.
6.  Brunch or dinner?
BRUNCH!  It’s the best of both worlds and I love dining out in the middle of the day.  It almost feels like I’m breaking the rules and is always a special treat!
7.  If you could live in any country for a while, where would you want to live?
Tough question!  I’ve had the luxury of traveling the world and have really enjoyed so many great places that it’s hard to decide where I would like to land.  When I was a teen, it was the south of France hands down.  As an adult, I’ve considered Germany more than any other country for a number of reasons.  C is from Germany.  Several of my family members have lived in Germany over the years.  I have family origin’s in Germany.  I have friends from Germany.  And I enjoyed visiting Germany.  Germany it is!
8.  What is the best piece of advice anyone has ever given you?
I have been given a plethora of excellent advise in my lifetime.  In fact, it’s hard to pin point one specific piece as the very best.  Advise I give to others is based on information I have gathered, observation, intuition, and experience.  There is, however, one bit of advise that I think everyone should know.  Working with seniors, there is so much to learn about life from those who are at the end of theirs.  The few comments I’ve heard more than a few times are:  I wish I hadn’t worked so hard and spent more time living.  I wish I had taken better care of my health.  I wish I had spent more time with my friends and family.  Knowing what I may regret later helps me to live a better life now.
9.  What’s your favorite pair of shoes?
Flip flops.  I wear them all year round.  I wear them to work.  I wear them to fancy dinners.  I wear them in important ceremonies.  I love flip flops!  One of my most favorite YouTube video’s about Humboldt County had a segment where the guy commented “where you can wear flip flops to a job interview!”  So true!!  And yes I did.
10.  Recommend one of your favorite blogs.
I have three blogs that I follow religiously and San is one of them!  But since I’ve referenced her in the beginning of this post, I will share with you one of my other all time favorites.  ‘Sota is Sexy  Katrina is hands down a hilarious and entertaining blogger.  I’ve been following her for several years now and she never ceases to make me laugh.  I totally think you will love her blog!
Alright!  Here are my question’s for you!
1.  Share your favorite recipe.
2.  What is your MBTI personality type and what traits do you most relate to?
3.  Post a picture that best represents your life RIGHT NOW.
4.  If money was not a concern, what would your life look like?
5.  List the top 5 places you’d like to visit.
6.  Who was your teenage super star crush?
7.  If you were a singer, what would your debut album be called?
8.  What is one fashion trend that makes you cringe?
9.  What is one piece of advise you would give your younger self if you had the chance?
10.  List the top 5 items on your bucket list.
Like San, I would like to nominate anyone who would like to participate!  I don’t really know of anyone to nominate other than her but would super duper LOVE to have you participate just the same!  I’m always looking for new blogs to explore and what a great way to connect!  Don’t have a blog?  Feel free to answer my 10 questions in the comments below!
