February Favorites

1:  BeautiControl
As mentioned  before, and as some of you have noticed on FB, I signed up with BeautiControl in November with the sole intention of getting a discount on the skincare products I love and use.  Over the span of February, I unearthed some hidden motivation that I didn’t know existed and decided to become a consultant.  I’ve had a myriad of reasons for this with “finding independent sources of income” as one of them.  I am delighted by how my new little business has blossomed in such a short amount of time!  I know not everyone is receptive and that is OK.  These products speak for themselves and I am not going out of my way to “push” anyone into anything.  Just sharing my own 23 years experience and sharing the products.  So far, I am impressed by the honest responses I am receiving as well as the monetary and incentive rewards I have received.  I’ve already received a commission check and all I did was share!  I am excited to see how this new adventure blossoms for me.  The best part is how I feel about myself now.  I am no longer overwhelmed with the doom and gloom of my life.  It brightens my day and I can’t be happier with how my face is looking now that I’ve dumped my hippy lifestyle….or at least dumped my hippy face washing regimen….and started treating myself with more respect and love. 

2:  Fitbit Zip
Thanks to Katrina over at Sota is Sexy for talking about the Fitbit pedometer.  I LOVE this little guy.  Having a fun little pedometer has made me more conscious of how inactive I truly am.  I mean, I knew it before but now it’s a slap in the face how lazy I am.  A human needs to walk 10,000 steps per day to be healthy and 15,000 steps per day to lose weight.  Before I started, I thought….Noooooo Problemo!!  WRONG.  I walk, on average, a sad 3,000 steps per day.  Only once did I reach 11,000 steps and man I was like a little busy body all over the place.  My job does not accommodate so many steps in one day and when I get home I am tired and sit around some more.  I have to admit, I’ve been really good about keeping my Zip on me at all times (even when I sleep, otherwise I forget to reattach it to my body) and I like how even on my lazy days I am reminded that I am lazy.  No head in the sand anymore.  I am working on my motivation….something I’ve been lacking for years…and am determined to increase my steps per day no matter how long it takes or what I have to do. 

3:  Big Love
Yes, you read that right.  I am the first to admit that I like bizarre t.v. and just watched the entire series of Big Love.  Normally I am fond of the train wreck that reality television brings because I am fascinated by people being people but this drama was actually really good, offering insight into a world I know nothing about.  I have no interest in polygamy nor do I understand how any woman could be ok with sharing her husband.  Not to mention how unfair I think it is that a man can screw around with other women but the women are not allowed to follow suit.  BUT, I must admit I became fond of the characters and really enjoyed watching this story unfold and learning about a way of life that seemed so foreign to me.
