March Birchbox

Someone must have known I was having a hard time because my next Birchbox has already arrived!

I haven’t even tried my last two face creams yet and now I have a whole new array of goodness to explore.

So let’s dive right in, shall we?  I was a little less delicate this month as I scrambled to explore.
Beauty Protector Protect and Detangle ($2.74)
Ok.  When they said addictive head scent I had no idea it would smell so good.  Spritzing generously is never a problem here since my hair is long and more is better right?  My hair was instantly transformed into lovely manageable locks.  This is great because I’m always looking for quality products on my way to getting my hair back to normal after the Avalon Organics Lavender debacle of 2012.   As directed I spritzed this fabulous product on clean, damp hair, picked it out, and let it air dry.  Since it is heat safe, I could have blown it dry and straightened it but I tried it at night so let it just go.  In the morning I was so surprised at how nice my hair looked and felt!  So soft and shiny and wonderful.  I think I am sold on this product.  A+ Birchbox!  Well done.
Coola Tinted Matte SPF 30 for Face ($3.53)
What is it with tinted products?  It always makes me feel like I’m putting makeup on.  I’m waiting for the right moment to try this sample.  Paranoia to makeup esque product?  I have no idea what my problem is.  The upside, this same product comes in a non tinted format which I could see using.  My fair skin has been brutalized the last few summers and I think it’s time I take sun protection seriously.  Combining a moisturizer with an SPF is exactly up my alley.  Maybe I’ll do a whole post just on the thee tinted face lotions I’m too scared to try.
Gilchrist & Soames London Collection Body Lotion ($3.00)
I love lotion so this was an exciting addition to my box.  This lotion is not thick and the little jar is super cute.  The fragrance is light and I’m still trying to pinpoint what it reminds me of.  It kind of reminds me of luxury hotel lotion.  Ok, it reminds me of the Mandalay Bay hotel in Vegas.  The results are really nice as well and my hands and body feel fancy.
Harvey Prince Cherie Blossom ($1.10)
From the packaging, this little fragrance sample gave me hope for a fun scent I would love.  Almost, but not quite.  I think it’s the “musk” addition that turns me away.  Last months fragrance also had musk in it.  I guess I’m just not a musk fan.  I gave it a whorl but in the end washed it off.  The after affect surprisingly kept me sniffing my sleeve as I was finally catching those hints of cherry and vanilla.  I’d recommend tossing the musk to the curb and this would be so much better!
Tea Forte Minteas ($3.32)
A perk me up fitness mint fits right into my wanna be fitness persona.  Once I polish off the last of these damn Girl Scout cookies, my sugar swollen self is hitting the gym hard core and these mints will keep me going.  Good bye thin mints.  Hello tea mints!
Ghirardelli Cherry Tango Chocolate Square ($0.45)

Mmmmm.  I am a chocoholic.  I get that from my mother.  Though this tasty treat was chasing a sleeve of Thin Mints, it did not disappoint.  Though I have a colorful personality, it usually doesn’t spill over into my food choices.  As a reformed picky eater, I am willing to try almost anything once but tend to stick to straight forward foods by choice.  This little treat was actually super good!  Just the right amount of cherry and almond to take this from ordinary to extraordinary!  I may have actually performed a little couch happy dance after all…

Total value:  $14.14
Final verdict:  Loved this box!  I loved the variety and I loved the products so much, I purchased the full size version of Beauty Protector Protect and Detangle AND the Gilchrist & Soames London Collection Body Lotion.  Because I bought them during the promotional period, I got free shipping and didn’t have to spend $50 to do it!  The funniest part is that the full descriptions on the website are almost verbatim to my own thoughts.  I am seriously excited about my newest products.  See, this is why I joined.  To discover new stuff that I may never have tried before!
