Letter Writers Alliance

I just received my welcome packet from the Letter Writers Alliance, you know,  # 5 on the evolution list.  The envelope instantly caught my eye with all the neat stamps and markings of what appeared to be a very important letter.  I especially liked the address label which was really just a Hello, My Name Is shirt sticker.  Inside was the welcome letter which talks about the LWA mission to “resurrect the art and elegance of letter writing”, inviting me to write more letter!  Also included was a postcard with my new membership card and number attached, log in information, and the official LWA patch.

Without hesitation I hopped onto the website, logged in, and immediately clicked on the Pen Pals section.  I was prompted to mail a self addressed and stamped envelope as well as a note containing my name, address, age, member number, and interest in an international pen pal.  Now that my request is on it’s way, I should receive a new pen pal in about 3 – 4 weeks.
I explored the member site a little more to see what else the LWA had in store.  There are downloads available with cute stationary and other neat tools and embellishments.  There is also a store where you can purchase letter writing accoutrement’s as well.  For $5.00 I think this will turn out to be a fun, new adventure!

  1. I have a membership. I have to admit, I haven't really done much with it, but since I used to be an avid letter writer (and still try to send snail mail as much as I can), I had to be a part of this.

  2. I used to be an avid letter writer too! There is something incredibly charming about handwritten snail mail. I've always inspired to be more like my mom. She has always been great about sending thoughtful cards for birthday's, anniversaries, Christmas, and other special occasions. I used to have a couple pen pals when I was a kid too. One in Denmark and one in L.A., both of which have faded into the past as so many people and things do. I just got my first pen pal name yesterday. I hope I can keep up with it!
